Ice Age 4: Continental Drift is an absolute blast for the whole family. The cast brings a ton of energy to the screen. You cannot ignore how much fun these voice actors have while recording their lines.
The Woolly Mammoth
Ray Romano voices the lovable, grumpy mammoth, Manny. His deadpan delivery makes Manny the heart of the group. It is hilarious how he just wants a quiet nap away from the chaos.
Manny's Deep Thoughts
Manny is a mammoth who hates change and loud noises. His emotional baggage is played for big laughs. Yet, his protective nature always shines through every scene.
Must Read
The Hilarious Sloth
John Leguizamo gives life to Sid, the neurotic sloth. Sid's chaotic energy drives most of the laughs. You will never guess what ridiculous thing he gets into next.
Sid's Silly Antics
Sid is always getting himself into trouble with the herd. He often mistakes basic concepts for complex ideas. His misplaced confidence is absolutely endearing to everyone watching.
The Cool Cat
Denis Leary plays Diego, the sassy saber-toothed tiger. His sharp wit perfectly matches his feline persona. He is the cool guy who secretly cares a lot.
Diego's Sass
Diego provides a perfect balance to the group dynamic. He is sarcastic but fiercely loyal. His dry humor keeps the team grounded during wild adventures.
The Acorn Obsession
Chris Wedge voices Scrat, the tiny saber-toothed squirrel. Scrat has zero dialogue, yet steals every scene. His endless chase for an acorn is genuinely iconic.
Scrat's Silly Pursuit
Scrat is a force of nature in his own right. He accidentally causes continental drift throughout the movie. It is the most hilarious running gag in the franchise.

The Pirate Captain
Peter Dinklage voices the terrifying pirate, Captain Gutt. Gutt is a massive ape with a serious Napoleon complex. His ship, the Sweet Revenge, is pretty cool.
Gutt's Goofy Crew
Captain Gutt is not your typical Disney baddie. He is more of a chaotic, goofy pirate king. His crew is made up of the weirdest animals imaginable.
The Fierce Saber
Jennifer Lopez lends her voice to Shira, Diego's love interest. She is a fierce saber-toothed tiger pirate. Her cool demeanor balances Diego's sarcasm.
Shira's Impact
Shira brings a much-needed edge to the team. She is tough but softens up by the end. Her dynamic with Diego is surprisingly sweet.
The Wise Grandma
Wanda Sykes plays Granny, Sid's ancient pet whale-riding grandma. Granny is surprisingly useful despite looking completely helpless. Her sassy one-liners are pure gold.
Granny's Whale
Granny rides a whale named Precious through icy waters. Precious is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Their dynamic adds absurdity to the journey.
Behind the Scenes
The actors recorded their lines separately for the most part. They had to imagine the other characters during their takes. This makes the group dynamic feel surprisingly natural.

Stand-Up Influences
Denis Leary brought his stand-up comedy timing to the role. He naturally delivered Diego's cutting remarks. John Leguizamo, meanwhile, improvised a lot of Sid's weird sounds.
A New World
The continental drift separates the main herd from their families. They end up on an icy raft captained by Gutt. It is a wild shift from the frozen tundra.
The Pirate Ship
The Sweet Revenge is a floating fortress of oddities. It is powered by the absurdity of its captain. Every scene on the ship feels like a chaotic comedy routine.
Why the Cast Works
The dynamic between the original trio remains the anchor. Manny, Sid, and Diego feel like a real family. The new additions spice up the adventure.
