First things first, Dawn French was born on October 11, 1957. That's right, she's a Libra, which explains her balanced approach to comedy - equal parts wit, warmth, and just the right amount of wickedness. Now, you might be thinking, "Blimey, that makes her... old!" But hold your horses, because Dawn's age is like a fine wine - it's only made her funnier with time.

Growing Up French

Dawn was raised in a household where laughter was as essential as oxygen. Her dad, Denys, was a Royal Navy commander, and her mum, Felicity, was a housewife. She's got two younger siblings, Phoebe and Richard, who she's described as "the two most annoying people in the world" - in that affectionate, sibling sort of way, you know?

Dawn's first taste of fame came at the tender age of 17 when she joined the Cambridge Footlights, an esteemed comedy troupe that's spawned the likes of Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson. She met her comedy soulmate, Jennifer Saunders, there, and the rest, as they say, is history.

The French and Saunders Era

Together, Dawn and Jen formed the comedy duo French and Saunders, and they took the world by storm. From their iconic impressions to their hilarious sketches, they've left an indelible mark on comedy. And let's not forget their unforgettable appearances in 'Absolutely Fabulous' - Patsy and Edina would be lost without their Saffy and Bubble!
