How Old Was Millie Bobby Brown In Season 1

Alright, gather 'round, folks. I've got a tale to spin about our favorite Eleven, Millie Bobby Brown, and her age in Stranger Things' first season. Now, you might think, "How hard can it be? Just look up her birthdate!" Well, hold onto your Eggo waffles, because it's not as simple as it seems. Let's dive in!

Let's Set the Stage

Imagine, if you will, the year 2016. The world was a different place. "Hamilton" was the musical everyone was talking about, "Pokémon Go" had us all walking into walls, and Netflix was about to drop a little show called "Stranger Things". Little did we know, a young British actress was about to steal our hearts and become a global sensation.

Enter: Millie

Millie Bobby Brown was born on February 19, 2004. That's right, folks! She's a 2004 baby. Now, let's do some math. In 2016, when Stranger Things season one aired, Millie was a mere 12 years old. Yes, you read that right. Eleven, the badass with the shaved head and telekinetic powers, was played by a tween!

But wait, you might be thinking, "She looks older! How could she be just 12?" Well, my friends, that's the magic of great acting and some clever styling. Millie might have been a pre-teen, but she played Eleven with the wisdom and intensity of an actress twice her age.

Now, About That Age Thing...

You might be wondering why it matters how old Millie was. Well, it's not just about satisfying your curiosity (though, let's be real, that's a big part of it). It's also about appreciating the incredible talent of a young actress who could hold her own against seasoned actors like Winona Ryder and David Harbour.

Plus, it's a reminder that sometimes, age is just a number. Millie might have been 12, but she commanded the screen like a pro. And let's not forget, she was also the youngest nominee for the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Eleven. Talk about breaking barriers!

Growing Up on Screen

Now, here's where things get a little meta. While Millie was 12 when she started playing Eleven, the character we meet in season one is supposed to be around 12 herself. So, in a way, Millie was playing a character not much older than herself. Mind. Blown.

And as the seasons went on, we watched Millie grow up right before our eyes. By season four, she was a teenager in real life and on screen. It's been quite the journey, hasn't it?

So, Why the Big Secret?

You might be wondering why we're all just finding out about Millie's age now. Well, folks, it's not like Netflix was hiding it. But in the age of the internet, misinformation can spread like wildfire. Some sites were reporting Millie's age as 16 or even older during season one. So, let's set the record straight once and for all!

And who knows? Maybe Millie herself had a hand in keeping the mystery alive. After all, she's said before that she wanted to keep her age a secret because she didn't want people to treat her differently on set. Smart kid, that Millie.

In Conclusion...

So there you have it, folks. Millie Bobby Brown was 12 years old when she played Eleven in Stranger Things season one. It's a fun fact, sure, but it's also a testament to her incredible talent and the power of great storytelling.

Now, go forth and impress your friends with your newfound knowledge. And remember, the next time you're watching Stranger Things, take a moment to appreciate the young talent that brought Eleven to life. She might have been just a kid, but she was our kid, and we loved her for it.

Until next time, folks. Keep your Eggo waffles warm, and your Upside Downs at bay.
