How Old Was Christina Hendricks In Mad Men

So, there I was, binge-watching Mad Men for the umpteenth time (don't judge, it's a classic!), and it suddenly hit me - how old was Christina Hendricks when she was playing the sultry Joan Harris? I mean, she looked absolutely stunning, but I couldn't shake off this nagging curiosity. So, let's dive into the time machine and find out!

Joan's Journey Through Time

Alright, so Mad Men premiered in 2007, and Christina Hendricks joined the cast in season 3, which aired in 2008. Now, let's do some math. Christina was born on May 3, 1975, which makes her a Taurus (you're welcome, fellow astrology lovers!).

When she started playing Joan, she was... hold onto your hats... 33 years old! Can you believe it? I mean, she looked like she was in her late 20s, early 30s tops. But nope, she was already well into her 30s, and we were all just over here aging like fine wine, I guess.

Age is Just a Number, Right?

Now, you might be thinking, "But Mad Men is set in the 1960s, so she must have been playing a younger version of Joan!" And you'd be right. The show's first season is set in 1960, which means when we first meet Joan in season 3, she's supposed to be around 28 years old. So, Christina was playing a character who was about five years younger than herself.

But here's the thing, folks. Age is just a number, right? And Christina Hendricks, with her incredible talent and timeless beauty, managed to pull off playing a character who was younger than her in real life. I mean, can you even?
