First things first, Sixteen Candles was released in 1984, a time when leg warmers and big hair were all the rage. Now, you might be thinking, "Wasn't Anthony Michael Hall, like, a baby back then?" Well, let me stop you right there.

Hall, our beloved Brian 'The Geek' Ralph, was actually born on April 19, 1968. So, when Sixteen Candles hit the screens, he was a sixteen-year-old teenager himself. I know, right? It's like looking in a mirror, but with better hair.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why does this matter?" Well, friend, it's all about perspective. When you're watching Sixteen Candles, you're not just seeing a movie, you're getting a blast from the past. And knowing that Hall was just a kid himself, makes the whole thing feel a little more... relatable, you know?

But wait, there's more! If we're talking about Hall's age, we can't forget about his co-star, Molly Ringwald. She played the iconic Samantha Baker, and she was sixteen too, when the movie was released. Talk about a double whammy of teenage nostalgia!
