How Old Is Una Stubbs

So, you're curious about Una Stubbs' age, huh? Well, grab a cuppa, get comfy, 'cause we're about to dive into a little journey through time, Una-style.

Born in the Roaring Twenties

Imagine this: it's 1937, the height of the Swing era, and in the heart of West Yorkshire, a little star is about to make her entrance. That's right, our Una Stubbs was born in the same year as the Hindenburg disaster, the first talking movies, and the start of the Great Depression. But hey, let's not dwell on the negatives, she turned out just fine!

Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, that makes her older than my grandparents!" Well, hold onto your hats, 'cause we're just getting started.

War, What is it Good For?

Una grew up during World War II, which, let's face it, wasn't the most fun time to be a kid. But she made it through, and by the time the war was over, she was ready to take on the world. And take it on she did!

From Ballet to TV Screens

Una started her career as a ballet dancer, which is pretty impressive, right? I mean, have you tried to do a pirouette? It's not as easy as it looks, folks. But Una was a natural, and she danced her way into our hearts, even landing a role in the iconic film "Summer Holiday" with Cliff Richard.

But Una wasn't content to just stay on the stage. Oh no, she had her eyes on the small screen. And boy, did she make an impact!

Una's TV Takeover

Remember "Till Death Us Do Part" with the legendary Alf Garnett? Yep, that's Una playing his long-suffering wife, Rita. And let's not forget "The Worst Witch" where she played the formidable Miss Cackle. She even popped up in "EastEnders" and "Holby City"! Talk about a TV veteran.

And let's not forget her iconic role in "Sherlock" as Mrs. Hudson. She might have been playing a landlady, but she was the heart and soul of that show, if you ask me.

Still Going Strong

So, how old is Una now? Well, she's in her eighties, and still going strong! She's a true testament to the fact that age is just a number. She's acted alongside some of the biggest names in showbiz, danced her way through ballet, and even found time to marry and have kids. And she's still here, making us laugh and smile.

Una's Secret to Longevity?

Well, she once said, "I've never been one for diets or exercise. I just eat what I like and hope for the best." Now that's a philosophy I can get behind!

So, there you have it, folks. Una Stubbs, the original British treasure, is in her eighties and still shining brighter than a diamond. Here's to many more years of Una gracing our screens and making us laugh. Cheers!
