How Old Is Richard Petty Now

So, you're wondering, "How old is Richard Petty now?" Well, grab a seat, let's chat about this racing legend!

Born in the Roaring '20s

Richard Petty, the King of Stock Car Racing, was born on July 2, 1937. That's right, he's a product of the roaring '20s, not the roaring '20s of Gatsby and jazz, but the '20s of his parents' roaring engines!

Now, you might be thinking, "Wow, that makes him older than my grandma!" Well, hold onto your hats, because here's where it gets interesting.

Still Revvin' at 84

That's right, Richard Petty is 84 years young. He's been around the track so many times, he's practically worn a groove into it! But don't let that number fool you. This guy's still got the spirit of a race car driver burning like a thousand suns.

In fact, Petty's grandson, also named Richard Petty, is following in his footsteps. Talk about a family affair! It's like they've got a racing gene that just won't quit.

More Wins Than Birthdays

Petty's had more wins than birthdays - 200 to be exact. That's more than any other driver in the history of NASCAR. And he's not just a winner on the track, he's a winner in life. He's a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a true American icon.

Still Kicking Up Dust

You might think that at 84, Petty would be hanging up his racing boots. But no, this is Richard Petty we're talking about! He's still involved in the sport, still kicking up dust, still making his presence known.

He's got his own race team, Petty Racing, and he's still making appearances at tracks across the country. He's like that old race car that just won't die - he's got too much life left in him!
