How Old Is Mickey Rourke

So, I was at this retro diner the other day, you know the kind with the red vinyl booths and the jukebox in the corner. I was flipping through a worn-out magazine, and who do I see on the cover but Mickey Rourke. I mean, talk about a blast from the past, right? It got me thinking, how old is this guy anyway?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Dude, Google exists." Yeah, yeah, I know. But where's the fun in that? Let's dive into this together, like we're old pals sitting at that diner booth, sipping on our milkshakes.

Born in the Roaring '50s

Alright, so here we go. Philip Andre Rourke Jr., better known as Mickey Rourke, was born on September 16, 1952. That makes him a Viper, in case you're into astrology. But let's keep this real, shall we? That means he's 70 years old as of 2022. Seventy! Can you believe it?

I mean, have you seen him in "The Wrestler"? He was incredible, right? But more on that later. Let's rewind a bit.

From Boxer to Actor

Rourke was born in Schenectady, New York, but he grew up in Miami, Florida. He was a boxer in his teens, which explains those rugged features of his. He had a pretty impressive record too, with 27 wins and 3 losses. But acting was always his first love.

He started out in the '70s, with small roles in TV shows and movies. His big break came in 1980 with "The Pope of Greenwich Village." After that, he was unstoppable. He starred in "Diner," "Rumble Fish," "9 1/2 Weeks," and "Angel Heart." He was the bad boy of Hollywood, the embodiment of cool.

The Fall and the Rise

But then, things got a bit rocky. Rourke's career took a nosedive in the '90s. He was more known for his personal life and legal troubles than his acting. He even retired from acting for a while and returned to boxing.

But here's the thing about Mickey Rourke, he's a fighter, both in and out of the ring. In 2005, he made a comeback with "Sin City." Then, in 2008, he blew us all away with his performance in "The Wrestler." He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor. Not bad for a guy who was written off as a has-been, huh?

Still Going Strong

And he's still going strong. He's been in a bunch of movies since then, including "Iron Man 2" and "The Expendables." He even has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Not too shabby for a guy who's been around the block a few times, right?

So, there you have it. Mickey Rourke is 70 years old, and he's not slowing down anytime soon. Here's to hoping we see more of him on our screens. After all, it's not every day you get to see a Hollywood legend in action.

Now, who's up for another milkshake?
