How Old Is Jorja Smith

So, you've found yourself wondering, "How old is Jorja Smith, the musical enchantress who's been serenading our ears with her soulful tunes?" Well, grab a cuppa, 'cause we're about to dive into this mystery like a cat burglar at a canary convention.

Let's Start at the Very Beginning...

Jorja Smith, born Jorja Alice Smith, popped out into the world on June 11, 1997, in Walsall, England. Yes, you heard it here first, folks! She's a summer baby, just like strawberries and sunshine. Now, before you start doing the math and shouting, "But that makes her only 24!", hold your horses, because we're about to get into some timey-wimey stuff.

Time Travel and Music Magic

You see, Jorja didn't just appear on the music scene fully formed, like Athena springing from Zeus' forehead. No, no, no. She's been honing her craft since she was a wee lass. She started singing at the age of 8, and by the time she was 16, she was performing at local open mic nights. So, when you hear her music, you're not just listening to a 24-year-old; you're hearing the culmination of over a decade of passion, practice, and pure talent.

Now, you might be thinking, "But what about her debut album, 'Lost & Found'? That came out in 2018, when she was only 21! How did she manage that?" Well, my friend, that's the magic of the music industry. It's like a black hole of time, where a year can feel like a decade, and a decade can feel like a year. It's all very Inception-esque, if you ask me.

From Walsall to the World Stage

Anyway, back to our timeline. Jorja released her debut single, "Blue Lights," in 2016, and it was like a musical meteor striking the earth. It exploded onto the scene, gaining her critical acclaim and a spot on the BBC Sound of 2017 longlist. From there, it was a whirlwind of collaborations with the likes of Drake, Kali Uchis, and Stormzy, and performances at Coachella, Glastonbury, and even the Grammys. Phew! That's quite the résumé for a young'un, isn't it?

And let's not forget her acting chops. Yes, you heard it right. Jorja made her acting debut in the 2021 film "The Last Duel," directed by Ridley Scott. Talk about diversifying your skill set! This girl is clearly not one to be pigeonholed into just singing. She's a true Renaissance woman, albeit a very young one.
