First things first, let's clear the air. When we talk about the age of a DJ, we're not just referring to their physical age. We're talking about their musical age - how long they've been in the game, the era they grew up in, and the tunes that shaped their sound.

Back in the Day

Remember vinyl? You know, those big, black discs that your parents or grandparents used to play music on? Holy Priest DJ, born Darryl James, started his musical journey back in the late 70s, when vinyl was king. He was just a kid, but he was already feeling the beat.

He started out in his hometown of New York City, spinning records at local parties and small clubs. This was the era of disco, funk, and soul. Think Saturday Night Fever, Good Times, and I Will Survive. DJ Holy Priest was right there, soaking it all in.

From Vinyl to Digital

As the years went by, music evolved. Vinyl gave way to CDs, and then, the digital revolution happened. DJ Holy Priest evolved with it. He was one of the first to embrace digital DJing, using software like Serato and Traktor to create seamless mixes.

But here's the thing, he didn't just embrace the new. He respected the old. You can still hear the influence of his vinyl days in his sets. He's got this way of making a track sound like it's being played from a worn-out record, even when it's coming from a laptop.
