How Old Is Eric Pollard

So, I was watching Emmerdale the other day, you know, just to catch up on the latest drama in the Dales. And there's Eric Pollard, as smooth-talking and scheming as ever. I mean, the guy's been around since the 80s, but he doesn't seem to have aged a day. It got me thinking, how old is Eric Pollard, really?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Why do you care so much about some soap opera character's age?" Well, bear with me, I'm getting to something here.

Eric Pollard: The Ageless Wonder

First things first, let's talk about the actor, Chris Chittell. He's been playing Eric since 1986, which is like, what, 35 years? That's dedication, right? Now, Chris was born in 1943, which makes him... well, let's just say he's seen a few Christmases.

But here's the thing, Chris looks great for his age. I mean, he's still got that silver fox thing going on. So, when he's on screen as Eric, it's hard to tell if Eric's supposed to be in his 70s or just really good at preserving his youth. It's like the fountain of youth is flowing through the Dales, and Eric's found the tap.

Is Eric Immortal?

Now, I'm no expert on Emmerdale's lore, but I'm pretty sure Eric's not immortal. I mean, he's had his fair share of near-death experiences, but he always pulls through. Maybe it's all that Yorkshire charm?

But seriously, if Eric is immortal, I need to know his secret. I mean, who wouldn't want to live forever, or at least look like they could? I'm thinking a good night's sleep, a hearty breakfast, and a daily dose of Yorkshire air could be the key to eternal youth. Or maybe it's just good genes and a great skincare routine. Either way, I'm sold.

So, How Old Is Eric Pollard?

Alright, let's get down to business. According to the Emmerdale wiki, Eric was born in 1948. That makes him... let me do the math... 73 years old. Yep, that's right, Eric Pollard is 73 years young. Or at least, that's his character's age. In reality, Chris Chittell is a few years older than that.

But here's the thing, Eric's age doesn't really matter. Whether he's 73 or 103, he's still the same scheming, charismatic, and sometimes infuriating Eric we all know and love. And that, my friends, is what makes Emmerdale worth watching.

So, next time you're watching Emmerdale, raise a glass of Yorkshire's finest to Eric Pollard. Here's to another 35 years of scheming, smooth-talking, and keeping the Dales interesting.
