Have you ever found yourself deep in a Nickelodeon rabbit hole at two in the morning? Yeah, same. One character who keeps popping into our heads is Dice from Sam and Cat. The big question everyone keeps asking is: how old is he, really? Let's dig into it.
Who Even Is Dice?
Dice is the lovable, sneaky neighbor from Sam and Cat, the spin-off that brought together the worlds of iCarly and Victorious. He's always getting into shenanigans, hustling the neighbors, and somehow never getting caught. Played by Cameron Ocasio, Dice became one of the most memorable sidekick characters on the show. Fans loved his volume and his chaotic energy immediately.
The Character's Age on Screen
In the show, Dice is portrayed as a bit older than Sam and Cat — who are both meant to be around ten years old. He's basically a teenage neighbor hanging out with two kids who babysit for a living. His exact age isn't spelled out in every episode, but he comes across as a high schooler or just barely one. That gap actually makes the dynamic even more entertaining because he's constantly looking out for two tiny bosses.

How Old Was the Actor?
Here's where it gets really fun. Cameron Ocasio was born on September 13, 1999. Sam and Cat aired from 2013 to 2014, which means Cameron was literally a 13- to 14-year-old while filming the whole series. So Dice's age in the show? It was pretty close to reality. That's honestly one of the coolest things about Nickelodeon casting — the teens were playing teens.
Think about that for a second. You probably remember being 13 and barely able to handle homework and textures. Cameron was memorizing scripts, performing slapstick comedy, and being the coolest kid on the block — all at once. It's wild to wrap your head around.
Fun Things You Might Not Know
Dice's full name is never actually revealed on the show. He's just plain old "Dice" — no last name, no explanation, no backstory documents. That alone made him feel like a street-level legend even before the story started.

He ran a little "business" on the side, charging neighbors ridiculous amounts of money for mundane services. These scams were hilariously transparent, and yet adults on the show fell for them every time. One of the greatest running gags on the entire series.
Cameron Ocasio wasn't random for the role either. He had some natural comedic talent and a face that could deliver perfectly deadpan reactions. Those moments when Dice gives a knowing look to the camera unknowingly steal every scene he's in. You can't teach that kind of timing — it's born.
So Why Does It Even Matter?
Honestly, does it really matter how old Dice is? Kind of. Kind of not. What matters is that Dice represents a certain type of character we don't see everywhere in kids' TV. He's sneaky, he's funny, he's flawed, and he's genuinely entertaining without being a main hero or a total villain. He exists in this perfect middle zone where the audience gets to root for his chaos.

Nostalgia plays a huge role here too. Millennials and Gen Z who grew up on Nickelodeon still talk about this show years later. People bring up Dice in memes, TikTok edits, and YouTube deep-dives constantly. His age becomes a fun talking point because it connects us back to a simpler, weirder time on TV.
The Bigger Picture
Characters like Dice remind us that not every role needs to be the lead to be iconic. He's the neighbor who squeezes through every crack in the story and leaves something memorable behind. His "age mystery" keeps conversations going, which honestly is the best thing a fictional character can ever do.
So Dice is somewhere between 10 and 15, depending on whether you're talking about what the show implies or what Cameron Ocasio actually was during filming. Either way, this merry hustler lives rent-free in the hearts of fans everywhere. And let's be real — that's forever.
