Megan Coronation Street Age

So, I was in the local pub the other day, and I overheard a couple of regulars debating whether Megan Platt from Coronation Street was older or younger than they thought. Now, I'm not one to eavesdrop, but when it comes to Corrie, I can't help but join in the fun. So, I leaned in and said, "You know, I've been wondering the same thing!" And that, my friends, is how I ended up doing some serious research on Megan's age. Who knew a trip to the Rovers Return would lead to this?

Megan's Journey on the Street

Megan first graced our screens in 2018, played by the talented Lesley Sharpe. She's been a breath of fresh air, hasn't she? Always stirring the pot, causing a bit of drama, but we love her for it. Now, you might be thinking, "She looks like she's been around the block a few times, but how old is she really?" Well, let's dive in.

Age Reveals

In true Corrie fashion, Megan's age hasn't been explicitly stated. But, as avid viewers, we've picked up a few clues. Remember when she mentioned she was 40 when she first arrived? That was back in 2018, so that would make her... let me do the math... carry the two... oh, I'm terrible at math. Let's just say, she's probably in her mid-40s now.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why the secrecy, Corrie?" Well, it's all part of the soap opera charm, isn't it? They like to keep us guessing. Plus, it's not like age defines Megan. She's a complex character with a rich backstory, and that's what makes her so fascinating.

Lesley Sharpe's Real Age

Now, let's talk about the actress behind Megan, Lesley Sharpe. She's been in the game for years, hasn't she? You might recognize her from other shows like Emmerdale and Brookside. So, how old is she?

Well, Lesley was born in 1961, which makes her... drumroll ... 60 years young! Yes, you read that right. She's 60, and she's still killing it on our screens. Isn't that amazing? It just goes to show that age is just a number, and Lesley is a fantastic example of that.

Ageism in Soap Operas

Speaking of age, it's worth mentioning that soap operas have come a long way in terms of representation. We're seeing more diverse ages on our screens, which is fantastic. It's not just about the young, glamorous characters anymore. We want to see real, relatable people, and that includes older actors and characters.

So, next time you're watching Corrie, raise a glass to Lesley Sharpe and Megan Platt. They're both fantastic, and they're proving that age is just a number. Now, who's ready for a trip to the Rovers? My round!
