How Old Was Thora Birch In American Beauty

So, you've been wondering, "How old was Thora Birch in American Beauty?" Let's dive right in, shall we?

Rewind to 1999

Picture this: it's the late 90s, and Thora Birch, our girl, is just a wee one, right? Wrong! She's actually been around the block a bit. Born in 1976, she's already got a few films under her belt by the time we're talking about.

Now, American Beauty

This film, oh boy, it's a doozy. It's 1999, and Thora's playing Jane Burnham, the daughter of Kevin Spacey's character. She's all angst and braces, and let me tell you, she's nailed it.

So, how old is she? Drumroll, please... Thora Birch was a ripe old age of 23 when American Beauty hit the screens. I know, I know, you're thinking, "No way, she looks like she's barely out of high school!" But that's the magic of cinema, folks.

Before and After

Before American Beauty, Thora had already been in the game for a while. She'd done Patriot Games with Harrison Ford, and even played a young carroty-haired girl in Hocus Pocus. After American Beauty, she went on to star in Ghost World, which, if you haven't seen, you really should.

But back to the question at hand. 23, can you believe it? She was practically an old pro by then. Now, go forth and impress your friends with your newfound knowledge. You're welcome.
