How Old Was The Stranger Things Cast When They Started

Growing Up on Screen: The Stranger Things Cast's Journey

Ever felt like you've been watching the kids from Stranger Things grow up right before your eyes? Well, that's because you sort of have! Let's take a little stroll down memory lane and see just how young these talented actors were when they first stepped into the Upside Down.

Millie Bobby Brown: From Eleven to... Well, Still Eleven, But Older!

Remember when Millie Bobby Brown first appeared as Eleven, the mysterious girl with a shaved head and a penchant for waffles? That was back in 2016, and Millie was just a wee 12 years old! Can you even imagine being that young and taking on such a complex role? It's like when you were a kid and you'd put on a play for your family – except Millie's play was watched by millions.

Now, at 18, Millie's all grown up, with a successful career, her own production company, and even a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador title under her belt. It's like watching your little cousin go from playing with Barbies to running a Fortune 500 company – except, you know, way more impressive.

Finn Wolfhard: From Mike Wheeler to Teen Heartthrob

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, was just 13 when he started his journey in Hawkins. Remember how he was the sweet, bespectacled boy who fell head over heels for Eleven? It's like watching your friend's little brother go from crushing on his first grade school teacher to becoming a teen heartthrob – except, again, way more impressive.

Now, Finn's 19, and he's not just a Stranger Things star – he's also a musician, with his own band, Calpurnia. It's like going from playing air guitar in your bedroom to selling out concerts. Not bad for a kid who once just wanted to play Dungeons & Dragons with his friends.

The Gang's All Here: A Growing Pains Recap

Let's not forget the rest of the gang! Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) was just 11 when he started the series, and now he's 17. Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson) and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair) were both 13, and now they're 19 and 20, respectively. It's like watching your little league team grow up and become professional athletes – except, you know, way more magical.

'Stranger Things': The Cast Then and Now — See the 9 Years of Upside

Why should you care about all this, you ask? Well, because it's a reminder that these kids – yes, they were kids! – took on these incredible roles and absolutely killed it. They've grown up on screen, and with each season, they've shown us that they're not just actors, but artists. They've made us laugh, cry, and jump out of our seats, and they've done it all with a level of professionalism and talent that's beyond their years.

So, the next time you settle in to watch a new episode of Stranger Things, take a moment to appreciate the journey these young actors have been on. They've grown up right before our eyes, and it's been one heck of a ride. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some waffles to eat and some nostalgia to indulge in.
