How Old Jennifer Saunders

So, you're curious about how old Jennifer Saunders is, huh? Well, grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let's chat about this fabulous British comedienne.

Let's Set the Scene

Imagine it's 1958, the Queen's still fresh on her throne, and over in the lovely town of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, a baby girl named Jennifer Anne Saunders is about to make her grand entrance. Yep, that's right, our Jen's been around for quite some time now!

Now, before you start doing the math, let me save you the trouble. As of 2023, Jennifer Saunders is 75 years young. But who's counting, right? Well, her fans are, that's who!

Growing Up Saunders

Young Jen spent her childhood in various parts of the UK, from Lincolnshire to London. Her dad was a sales director, and her mum was a housewife. She's got two siblings, too - a brother and a sister. Pretty standard stuff, right? Well, not quite.

You see, Jen's always had a knack for making people laugh. Even as a kid, she was the class clown, the one making her teachers chuckle. It's like she was born with a comedy gene or something. Lucky thing, huh?

From School to Stage

After school, Jen studied drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She met her future comedy partner in crime, Dawn French, there. They became fast friends and started performing together. The rest, as they say, is history.

Together, they created the hilarious duo 'French and Saunders', making us laugh our socks off with their sketches and parodies. They were like the British equivalent of Wayne's World, but with more tea and less 'Schwing!'

But Jen didn't stop at 'French and Saunders'. Oh no, she went on to create and star in 'Absolutely Fabulous', playing the fabulous (and slightly chaotic) Edina Monsoon. She's also been in loads of other TV shows and films, like 'Shrek', 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', and even 'Doctor Who'!

And let's not forget her incredible writing skills. Jen's written for some of the funniest shows on telly, including 'The Vicar of Dibley' and 'Jam & Jerusalem'. She's like the comedy equivalent of a Renaissance woman - but with more laughter and less painting.
