How Old Is Skepta

Ever wondered about the age of the grime legend, Skepta? You're not alone, fam. Let's dive in, yeah?

So, how old is Skepta, really?

Alright, let's start with the basics. Our man, Joseph Junior Adenuga, better known as Skepta, was born on September 19, 1982. That makes him, drumroll please, 40 years old as of 2022. Yeah, you heard it right. But hold up, don't let that number fool you. This guy's been making waves in the music scene for what feels like forever.

Growing up in the game

Skepta was born and bred in Tottenham, North London. Growing up, he was surrounded by music, with his older brother, Jme, also making a name for himself in the grime scene. It's like they were born into it, you know? Think of them as the royal family of grime, if you will.

Skepta started rapping in his teens, but it wasn't until 2007 that he really blew up. His mixtape, 'Greatest Hits,' dropped, and boom! Just like that, he was on everyone's radar. That's like, what, 15 years ago? Time flies, huh?

From underground to the big leagues

Since then, Skepta's been on a roll. He's dropped album after album, each one packed with that signature Skepta sound. You know, that raw, unapologetic grime that makes you want to jump up and down? Yeah, that one.

He's collaborated with the likes of Drake, Pharrell Williams, and even appeared on the cover of GQ. And let's not forget his Mercury Prize win in 2016 for his album, 'Konnichiwa.' That's like the British Grammy, for those not in the know. Not bad for a 40-year-old, right?

Age is just a number, right?

You might be thinking, "40? That's ancient in the music world, right?" Well, not really. Sure, there are plenty of young'uns making waves, but Skepta's proof that age is just a number. He's still at the top of his game, still pushing boundaries, still making us move.

Think about it. In human years, Skepta might be 40, but in grime years, he's like, what, 25? Something like that. The point is, he's still got plenty of time to make more bangers, drop more bars, and keep the grime scene alive and kicking.

So, there you have it. Skepta's 40, and he's not slowing down anytime soon. Let's raise a glass to the OG, yeah? Here's to many more years of Skepta making us move. Cheers!
