How Old Is Roy Keane

So, you're wondering, "How old is Roy Keane, anyway?" It's a fair question, right? I mean, the guy's been around the block a few times, both on and off the football field. Let's dive in, shall we?

Born in the '70s, folks!

Roy Keane, our man of the hour, was born on August 10, 1971. That's right, he's a summer baby! Now, I know what you're thinking, "Wow, that makes him older than I thought!" But hold your horses, we're not talking ancient history here.

To put it into perspective, when Roy was born, the world was still grooving to the Bee Gees' "How Deep Is Your Love". And if you're thinking, "Huh, that's not that long ago," well, you're not wrong. But let's not forget, Roy's been around for quite a few decades now.

Growing up in the '80s

Roy spent his childhood in the '80s, a time when the Rubik's Cube was all the rage, and kids were just starting to get their hands on those fancy new things called "video games". He grew up in Cork, Ireland, where he was no stranger to the beautiful game of football.

Now, you might be wondering, "How did a young Roy Keane spend his free time?" Well, I'm glad you asked. According to some sources, young Roy was quite the competitive lad, always ready for a game of football or a good old-fashioned argument. Sound familiar, football fans?

Roy's football career really took off in the '90s. He started playing for Nottingham Forest in 1990, and by 1993, he was already captaining the team. Now, that's what I call a quick rise to the top!

But it wasn't all smooth sailing. Roy had his fair share of controversies, both on and off the field. Remember "The Send-Off", when he was sent off in a World Cup qualifier against Italy in 2001? Yeah, that was quite the drama. But hey, they say all press is good press, right?

Now, you might be thinking, "Okay, that's all well and good, but how old is he really?" Well, as of 2022, Roy Keane is 50 years old. That's right, he's hit the half-century mark. But you know what they say, "Age is just a number," and Roy's still as fiery and opinionated as ever.
