How Old Is Pusheen The Cat

Alright, gather 'round, cat lovers and curious minds! Today, we're diving into the purr-fectly delightful world of Pusheen, the cat who's stolen our hearts and taken over the internet. But hey, have you ever wondered, just how old is this fluffy sensation?

Pusheen's Humble Beginnings

Let's rewind to the year 2010. That's right, a whole decade ago! It was then that Claire Belton, a talented artist, created Pusheen as a character for her webcomic, "Everpuss." Now, I know what you're thinking, "But Claire, how could you possibly know that Pusheen would become a global phenomenon?" Well, Claire, neither did you, right? 😸

Pusheen started out as a simple, chubby cat with a love for donuts and a knack for getting into mischief. But it wasn't until 2013 that Pusheen truly began her journey to internet stardom. That's when Claire and her husband Andrew started the official Pusheen Instagram account. And boy, did Pusheen take the world by storm!

Pusheen's Internet Takeover

From there, Pusheen's fame grew exponentially. She's now got over 3 million followers on Instagram, her own plush toy line, and even a comic book series! She's collaborated with brands like Starbucks, Target, and even NASA. I mean, when you're a cat who's been to space, you know you've made it big, right? 🚀

But let's get back to our original question. How old is Pusheen? Well, if we count from the year she first appeared in "Everpuss," Pusheen is a sprightly 11 years old! But remember, in cat years, that's more like 55. So, she's basically a senior citizen in the cat world. But hey, she doesn't look a day over 29, does she? 😜

Pusheen's Ageless Appeal

So, why does Pusheen continue to capture our hearts, despite being a decade old? Maybe it's her relatable antics, her adorable design, or her ability to make us laugh with just a simple, "Meow." Whatever it is, Pusheen's got a magic that transcends age and time.

And that, my friends, is the beauty of the internet. It's a place where a simple, chubby cat can become a global sensation, touching the lives of millions. So, here's to Pusheen, the cat who's been making us smile for over a decade. May she continue to bring joy, laughter, and maybe even a few donuts, into our lives. 🍩
