How Old Is Peter In Narnia

So, there I was, tucked into my favorite armchair, re-reading "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" for what felt like the millionth time. I mean, who doesn't love a good Narnia binge, right? And then it hit me, like a snowball from the White Witch herself - how old is Peter Pevensie, anyway?

I mean, sure, we all know he's the eldest of the Pevensie siblings, but does it ever occur to you, while you're busy being dazzled by Aslan and the talking animals, to wonder about the big guy's age? No? Just me? Well, let's dive into the wardrobe and find out, shall we?

Peter's First Adventure

Alright, so we meet Peter for the first time when he's around 13 years old, give or take a few months. He's the one who first stumbles into Narnia through that magical wardrobe, remember? Now, this is where things get a bit tricky, because in the books, time in Narnia doesn't quite work like it does in our world. A year in Narnia can be a day here, or a hundred years, depending on who's telling the story.

Anyway, Peter and his siblings spend a year in Narnia, fighting the White Witch and all that jazz. When they finally make it back home, they find that only a few minutes have passed in our world. So, Peter's still 13, right? Wrong!

Time's a-Tickin'

You see, while Peter and his siblings were off having their grand Narnia adventure, they were also growing up in our world. When they finally return, they're all a year older. So, Peter, who was 13 when he first went through the wardrobe, is now 14.

But wait, there's more! Remember how I mentioned that time in Narnia is all wonky? Well, it turns out that while Peter and his siblings were away, their old professor, Digory Kirke, had been keeping an eye on their house. And guess what? He'd been watching them grow up through the window, seeing them age from children to adults. So, even though Peter and his siblings only spent a year in Narnia, they'd actually been gone for 13 years in our world!

Crazy, right? I mean, can you imagine being away for a year and coming back to find that you've missed out on, like, a decade of your life? Talk about a serious case of FOMO!

Peter's Later Adventures

Now, you'd think that would be enough adventure for one kid, but no, Peter's not done with Narnia yet. He goes back for two more adventures, "Prince Caspian" and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". In these stories, Peter's around 15 and 16 years old, respectively. But remember, he's been gone for 13 years in our world, so he's actually in his late teens, early twenties by the time he's done with his Narnia adventures.

And that, my friends, is how Peter Pevensie goes from being a 13-year-old boy to a young adult, all without ever leaving his teens in Narnia. Isn't time travel just the best?
