How Old Is Paul Scholes

So, you're curious about Paul Scholes' age, huh? Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to dive into a world of football, birthdays, and a touch of trivia that'll make you say, "No way, really?!"

Let's rewind, shall we?

Imagine it's 1974, the year when flares were still cool (in fashion, not on the pitch), and ABBA was just starting to give us all the feels. In the heart of Manchester, a little bundle of joy named Paul Scholes was born on November 16th. Yep, you heard it right, the same year as the first ever mobile phone call. Now, isn't that a fun fact?

Growing up Scholes

Young Paul wasn't always a football prodigy. In fact, he was so small as a kid that his mum had to tie his laces for him! Can you believe it? The same guy who grew up to be a football legend, once needed help tying his shoes. Awww!

But fear not, our little Scholesy wasn't always the smallest on the pitch. He grew, and boy, did he grow into those powerful left feet of his. By the time he was 14, Manchester United had already snapped him up. Talk about a promising start!

Fast forward to fame

Scholesy made his debut for the Red Devils in 1994, and the rest, as they say, is history. He played a whopping 718 games for United, scored 155 goals, and won a gazillion trophies. Oh, and did we mention he's a 10-time Premier League winner? Yeah, he's that good.

But here's where it gets interesting. While Scholes was busy becoming a football god, he was also quietly racking up the birthdays. You see, while his teammates were celebrating their 20s, 30s, and even 40s, Scholes was just casually turning 30, 31, 32... you get the picture.

Age is just a number, right?

Scholes retired from international football in 2004, but he kept on truckin' with United until 2013. That's right, folks, he was still scoring goals in his 30s! And if that wasn't impressive enough, he even came out of retirement in 2017 to play for Oldham Athletic. At the age of 42! Now, that's what you call a late bloomer.

So, how old is Paul Scholes? Well, as of 2022, he's 48 years young. But who's counting, right? After all, age is just a number, and Scholesy's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

But wait, there's more!

Here's a little Scholes trivia to leave you with. Did you know that Scholesy was so good, even the great Roy Keane once said, "He's a special player, one of the best I've played with"? High praise indeed from a man who wasn't exactly known for his compliments!

And there you have it, folks. Paul Scholes, the man, the myth, the legend. So, the next time you're watching a football match and you hear the commentators raving about a young player, just remember, there was once a time when Scholesy was that young too. And look how far he went!

Now, who's ready to celebrate another year of Scholesy greatness? Let's raise a glass to the man who proved that age is just a number, and football is forever.
