How Old Is Olivia Colman

Age is Just a Number, Ask Olivia Colman

Ever wondered how old Olivia Colman is? You're not alone. The British actress, known for her incredible range and that infectious laugh, has us guessing. But let's dive in and find out together.

Born in the '70s

Olivia Colman, or Olivia Susan Colman to be precise, was born on January 30, 1974, in Norfolk, England. That makes her a 48 going on fabulous, as of 2022. She's a Capricorn, if you're into astrology, which means she's likely as grounded and determined as the sea-goat she's named after.

From Cambridge to Hollywood

Colman studied at Cambridge University, where she met her future husband, Ed Sinclair. She also met David Mitchell and Robert Webb there, who would later become her comedy partners in Peep Show. Fun fact: Colman was initially hesitant to join the show, worried it would typecast her as a comedic actress. Boy, were we glad she changed her mind!

After Peep Show, Colman's career took off like a rocket. She played Sophie in Hot Fuzz, Beth in Rev, and even won a BAFTA for her role in Accused. But it was her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown that truly cemented her status as a national treasure.

From Queen to Queen of Comedy

Colman's ability to switch between drama and comedy is nothing short of remarkable. In 2018, she won an Oscar for her role in The Favourite, playing Queen Anne with a blend of humor, pathos, and just the right amount of absurdity. She's the only person to have won an Oscar, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe for playing a monarch, by the way.

And let's not forget her turn as the lovably chaotic mother in Fleabag. She's the kind of mom we all wish we had - supportive, hilarious, and always ready with a glass of wine. Or a hot priest.

Age is Just a Number

So, Olivia Colman is 48. But does it matter? Not really. She's a mother, a wife, a friend, an actress, and a force to be reckoned with. She's proof that age is just a number, and that talent, humor, and kindness know no bounds.
