Growing up, Kenny wasn't always destined for the spotlight. He worked odd jobs, from a gas station attendant to a bagger at a grocery store. But music was always his first love, and it wasn't long before he picked up his first guitar at the age of 10.

From The New Christy Minstrels to Solo Stardom

Kenny's journey to fame was as winding as a country road. He started his career in the early '60s with a group called The Scholars, but it was his time with The New Christy Minstrels that really got his name out there. He even wrote their hit song, "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town."

But Kenny was destined for bigger things. In 1976, he went solo and released his first album, "Love Lifted Me." And boy, did it! The album was a hit, and Kenny was on his way to becoming a country music legend.
