Jeff Kinney: The Man Behind the Wimpy Kid

So, who's this Jeff Kinney guy, anyway? He's the mastermind behind the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, which has been keeping kids (and adults, let's be real) laughing since 2007. If you've ever read one, you'll know he's got a knack for capturing the hilarious, cringe-worthy moments of middle school life.

But what about the man behind the pen? Born on May 19, 1971, Jeff Kinney grew up in Washington, D.C., with his three siblings. He was the middle child, which, if you ask me, is the perfect training ground for understanding the dynamics of a middle school classroom.

Now, you might be thinking, "71? That can't be right. He's way too cool to be that old!" Well, hold onto your hats, because Jeff Kinney is indeed 51 years young. And let me tell you, he's done a lot in those 51 years!

Before he was making us laugh with Greg Heffley's misadventures, Jeff was a web developer. He created the online gaming site Poptropica, which was a hit with kids and adults alike. It was during this time that he started writing Diary of a Wimpy Kid as a web comic, proving that you're never too old to start something new.
