How Old Is Ian Somerhalder

So, you're curious about Ian Somerhalder's age, huh? Well, grab a coffee, get comfy, 'cause we're about to dive into a world of vampires, acting, and a whole lot of '90s nostalgia. Let's get this show on the road!

Ian Who?

Alright, alright, you probably know him as Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries, or maybe you're a Lost fan and he's Boone to you. Either way, this guy's been around the block a few times, and he's picked up quite the fanbase along the way.

Now, you might be thinking, "But how old is he, really? Is he older than my grandma? Younger than my little cousin?" Well, let's put those questions to rest, shall we?

Born in the '70s, Like a Fine Wine

Ian was born on December 8, 1978, in Covington, Louisiana. Yep, you heard it right, folks! He's a '70s baby, which makes him 43 as of 2022. But don't let that fool you – this guy's got the energy of a toddler on a sugar high!

Now, you might be wondering, "How does he manage to look like he's stuck in his twenties when the rest of us are over here aging like fine wine... or more like cheap boxed wine?" Well, my friend, that's the magic of good genes, great skincare, and maybe a little bit of vampire blood. (Kidding! Probably.)

From Model to Actor to... Environmentalist?

Before he was sinking his teeth into the small screen, Ian was a model. Yep, you read that right. This tall, dark, and handsome hunk was strutting his stuff on runways and gracing the pages of magazines. But he decided to trade in his catwalk for a script, and boy, are we glad he did!

And speaking of trades, did you know Ian's also an environmental activist? That's right! When he's not busy being a heartthrob, he's busy saving the planet. He founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which focuses on protecting the environment and its inhabitants. Talk about a real-life hero!
