How Old Is Hakeem On Empire

So, there I was, binge-watching Empire the other day, and I found myself wondering, "How old is Hakeem Lyon, anyway?" I mean, one minute he's a rebellious teen, the next he's a grown man with a kid of his own. It's like, "Whoa, time flies, even on TV!"

Now, I know what you're thinking, "Dude, it's just a TV show, who cares?" Well, hold on to your Lucious Lyon-inspired suits, because I'm about to dive into the fascinating world of Empire's timeline, and you might just learn a thing or two. Plus, it's fun to geek out about our favorite shows, right?

Let's Talk Timestamps

First things first, let's set the scene. The pilot episode of Empire aired on January 7, 2015. In the first episode, we meet Hakeem, who's a senior in high school. Now, I don't know about you, but when I was a senior, I felt like I was way older than 17. But I digress.

So, if Hakeem was 17 when the show started, and it's now 2022 (wow, time flies, huh?), that means he'd be... drumroll please... 27 years old. Yes, you read that right. Hakeem Lyon is a grown man now, folks!

But Wait, There's More!

Now, you might be thinking, "But what about all those flashbacks and time jumps? They've aged him up and down more times than Lucious has changed his suits!" And you're right. The show has played with time a lot, so let's break it down.

Who Does Hakeem End Up With In Empire | The Tube

In season 2, we flashback to Hakeem's early teens. In season 3, we jump forward a few years, and Hakeem's a young adult. Then, in season 4, we do another time jump, and he's a little older. It's like the show is saying, "Hold my drink, I'm going to age this character in record time!"

But here's the thing, even with all the time jumps, Hakeem's always been played by the same actor, Bryshere Y. Gray. So, while the character might be a few years older or younger depending on the episode, the actor has been steadily aging in real life. And let me tell you, he's looking good for 27!

So, How Old Is Hakeem, Really?

Well, as of 2022, Hakeem Lyon is 27 years old. But remember, this is TV time, not real time. In the world of Empire, who knows how old he really is? Maybe he's an immortal Lyon, like Lucious. Or maybe he's just a really good liar about his age. Either way, it's been a wild ride watching him grow up, hasn't it?

And there you have it, folks. Hakeem Lyon, aged 27. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some more episodes to catch up on. Until next time, keep questioning, keep learning, and most importantly, keep watching!
