How Old Is Dash In The Incredibles

You know that desperate dash to the kitchen when the last slice of pizza is staring you down? That pure panic is exactly what Dash feels every single day, except his legs are a bit more... supercharged. It makes you wonder how old this pint-sized speedster actually is.

His Age in The Incredibles

In the first 2004 movie, Dash is exactly ten years old. He is portrayed as a hyperactive kid who is frustrated by the limits of his normal, everyday body. His birthday is celebrated in the film, which confirms his exact age.

Can you imagine having the energy of a ten-year-old but multiplied by a thousand? You would probably break a few lamps just trying to sit still in class. Dash is definitely not short on energy, and his super speed only makes things worse.

The Voice Behind the Speed

Interestingly, Dash was voiced by Spencer Fox, who was a child actor at the time. He was actually around the same age as the character he was playing. It is kind of ironic that the actor has grown up so much since then.

Fast forward to Incredibles 2, and the timeline has jumped forward significantly. Dash is now a teenager, dealing with the awkwardness of adolescence. His super speed is still there, but now it is mixed with teenage angst.

How Old Is Dash in Incredibles 2?

So, how old is Dash in the sequel? He is seventeen years old by the time of the second movie. You can really see the growth spurt in his facial structure and overall attitude.

It is wild to think that a whole decade passed in the real world, just like it did for the character. We watched a ten-year-old become a seventeen-year-old, and honestly, it feels like yesterday. Time really does fly when you are saving the world.

His power is basically a human version of a dragster. Nothing is safe from Dash when he decides to sprint. Friction and gravity are basically just suggestions to him.

What Would You Do?

If you had super speed as a kid, do you think you would use it for good or for mischief? Dash definitely leaned toward the mischievous side, running laps around his gym teacher. Honestly, I would probably just use it to win every argument.

Being the youngest in the Parr family comes with its own set of challenges. His older sister Violet is busy dealing with her invisibility powers. Meanwhile, Dash is left to burn off all that endless energy.

The Influence of Bob Parr

Their dad, Bob, tries his best to keep the family grounded. He is often reminded of his own glory days as a superhero. Dash is constantly seeking his father's approval, which makes for some great family dynamics.

Mom, Helen, is the real MVP of the family, keeping everyone together. She is the one who balances the chaos that Dash and Violet create. Without her, the household would probably fall apart.

And let us not forget about baby Jack-Jack. He is the wildcard of the family, with way too many powers for his own good. Unlike Dash, Jack-Jack is still figuring out what he can do.

Dash's School Life

School is a particular nightmare for a kid with super speed. He is forced to slow down, which goes against his very nature. Teachers are often baffled by how quickly he completes his worksheets.
