How Old Is Billie Piper

Guess Who's Turning 40? A Blast Through Billie Piper's Years!

Alright, let's dive in! You might know her as Rose Tyler from Doctor Who, or as the girl who sang "Because We Want To" at the 1999 Eurovision. But how old is Billie Piper, really?

Born in the '80s, but not the one you think!

Billie was born on June 22, 1982, in Swindon, England. That's right, she's a child of the '80s, but not the neon, big-hair '80s. She's more of a grunge, Britpop '90s gal. Her real name? Lianne Paul. But who wants to be a Lianne when you can be a Billie?

From Pop Star to Time Lord's Companion

Billie's career kicked off in the late '90s. She was just 15 when she won a place on the BBC TV talent show Talent Show Kids. Then, bam! She was a pop star. Her first single, "Because We Want To," was a hit, and she became the youngest artist to debut at number one in the UK Singles Chart.

But Billie wasn't just a one-hit wonder. She had a string of hits, including "Girl Like Me" and "She Wants You." She even won a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist in 2000. Not bad for a teenager!

Doctor Who and Beyond

Then, in 2005, Billie stepped into the TARDIS and became Rose Tyler, companion to the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston). She was 23, but played a teenager on the show. Talk about a timey-wimey situation!

Billie stayed with Doctor Who until 2006, then returned for a few episodes in 2008 and 2010. She's also had roles in shows like Secret Diary of a Call Girl and Penny Dreadful. And let's not forget her critically acclaimed performance in the play The Effect in 2015.
