So, I was at this tech conference last week, you know the kind, where everyone's name tag has more letters after it than before, and I'm standing in line for coffee. The guy behind me is chatting away, and I turn around to see this dude, probably in his late 20s, early 30s, with a name tag that reads "ATG Li Mike". I'm thinking to myself, "ATG? Isn't that like, ancient tech history?"
Now, I'm not one to judge a book by its cover, or a techie by their name tag, but it got me curious. How old is ATG Li Mike, really? I mean, ATG, that's like, the original Java EE, right? That's ancient in tech years. So, I decided to do a little digging.
ATG, The Dinosaur
First things first, let's talk about ATG. It stands for Art Technology Group, a company that was around way back in the 90s. They were big in e-commerce and content management systems. But here's the thing, ATG was acquired by Oracle in 2011. So, if ATG Li Mike is still using ATG, he's either really loyal, or really stuck in the past. Or maybe, just maybe, he's onto something.

Meet Mike
So, I found this guy, Li Mike, on LinkedIn. His profile picture is him holding a cat, which is already a thousand times better than most tech profiles. He's a software engineer, been in the game since forever, or at least, that's what his experience says. But here's the kicker, he's not even 40. I mean, I'm not saying he looks 40, but his LinkedIn says he's been working since he was like, 12.

I reached out to him, asked him straight up, "Mike, how old is ATG?" And you know what he said? He said, "ATG is as old as it needs to be to get the job done." I mean, that's some next-level tech wisdom right there. But it didn't answer my question.
Age is Just a Number
You know, the more I thought about it, the more I realized, it doesn't really matter how old ATG is. Or how old Li Mike is, for that matter. What matters is that they're still getting the job done. I mean, look at some of the oldest tech out there, it's still going strong. COBOL, anyone? It's like, older than my grandma, and it's still running half of Wall Street.

So, maybe ATG isn't ancient. Maybe it's just... experienced. And maybe Li Mike isn't old, he's just... wise. Or maybe I'm just overthinking this. Either way, I got my coffee, and I learned something. And that, my friends, is what tech conferences are all about.
Anyway, I should probably wrap this up. I've got a meeting with some Java EE dinosaurs in a bit. Wish me luck. And if you see Li Mike around, tell him I said hi. And ask him again how old ATG is. I'm still curious.
