How Old Is Aladdin

So, you've been wondering, "How old is Aladdin, anyway?" I mean, the guy's been around forever, right? Let's dive into this, shall we?

Once Upon a Time...

Aladdin, our street-smart hero, first appeared in "One Thousand and One Nights," a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled in the 10th century. Yes, you heard it right, 10th century. That's like, what, a thousand years ago? Mind. Blown.

Now, before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's address the elephant in the room. No, Aladdin isn't a real person. He's a fictional character, a creation of storytellers who loved a good tale as much as we love a good Netflix binge. But hey, that doesn't make him any less fascinating, right?

From Folktale to Film

Fast forward a few centuries, and along comes Disney. In 1992, they decided to give Aladdin the Hollywood treatment. And boy, did they ever! With a little magic, a lot of music, and Robin Williams as the Genie, the movie became an instant classic. Suddenly, Aladdin was a household name, or at least, a household street rat.

But here's the thing, Disney's Aladdin isn't exactly like the original. The studio took some creative liberties, added a dash of romance, and gave Aladdin a whole new look. But that's showbiz for you, right?

So, How Old Is He?

Now, back to the question at hand. Aladdin, the character, is as old as the stories that tell his tale. That makes him, well, really old. Like, older than your grandma's antique tea set old.

But Aladdin, the Disney version? He's a sprightly young lad. The movie was released in 1992, so that makes him... drumroll... 30 years old this year! Can you believe it? Our little street urchin is all grown up and ready to celebrate his 30th birthday. Where does the time go?
