How Old Are The Go Gos

So, you're curious about The Go-Go's, huh? Let's spill the beans over a steaming cup of joe. Grab a seat, make yourself comfy, and let's dive in.

Blast from the Past

First things first, The Go-Go's are way older than your average millennial's Spotify playlist. We're talking '70s and '80s here, folks. Can you even imagine life without streaming? I know, right? Mind. Blown.

Now, you might be thinking, "But weren't they, like, a one-hit wonder?" Oh, sweet summer child, let me enlighten you.

More Than Just "We Got the Beat"

Sure, "We Got the Beat" is their most famous tune, but these gals were a force to be reckoned with. They were one of the first all-female bands to write their own music and play their own instruments. That's right, they didn't just lip-sync their way to the top. They earned it.

And get this, their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," was a massive hit. We're talking number one on the Billboard 200. That's right, they outsold Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for a hot minute. Can you believe it?

Age is Just a Number

So, how old are they, you ask? Well, let's do some math. The band was formed in 1978, and their lead singer, Belinda Carlisle, was born in 1958. That makes her... carry the one... 64 as of 2022. And the rest of the band? They're not far behind.

But here's the thing, age is just a number, right? These ladies are still going strong. They've reunited, toured, and even have a new documentary coming out. Talk about ageless!

Facts You Might Not Know

Now, you might think you know everything about The Go-Go's, but did you know they were originally called The Misfits? Yeah, pretty different, huh? And get this, they were managed by a guy named Richard "The Specialist" Boon, who also managed The Sex Pistols. Small world, huh?
