How Old Am I Born 1962

So, there I was, the other day, scrolling through my social media feed, when I stumbled upon one of those 'This Day in History' posts. You know the ones, right? They pop up with a random fact about something that happened on this exact day, but years and years ago. This particular post was about the first ever human spacewalk, which happened on March 18, 1965. Now, I'm no history buff, but I was like, "Wow, that's crazy! I was only three years old when that happened!"

And that got me thinking, "Hey, how old am I, anyway?" I mean, I know my birthday, but somehow, I'd never really stopped to think about what that actually means in terms of, well, history. So, I decided to do a little digging. And wouldn't you know it, I was born in 1962. That's right, I'm a baby boomer, folks! Or at least, that's what they call us.

So, What's the Big Deal About 1962?

Well, let me tell you, 1962 was a big year. I mean, I wasn't there to see it, but from what I've read, it was a real rollercoaster. There was the Cuban Missile Crisis, the first ever James Bond film, and even the first ever commercial communications satellite was launched. And let's not forget the music! The Beatles were just getting started, and Elvis was still the king. It was a whole different world, and I was born right in the middle of it all.

What Does That Mean for Me?

Well, I guess it means I'm part of a generation that's seen a lot of change. I mean, we've gone from black and white TVs to streaming services, from typewriters to laptops, from vinyl records to Spotify. We've seen the Berlin Wall come down, the internet explode, and we've even seen a black president in the White House. And through it all, here I am, still kicking.

But you know what? It's not all about the big events. I mean, sure, they're interesting, but what really makes me feel my age is the little things. Like when I hear a song on the radio and I can remember where I was when it came out. Or when I see a movie and I can remember seeing the original in the theater. Or when I look at my kids and realize that I've been around long enough to see them grow up.

So, What's Next?

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to hang up my dancing shoes just yet. I mean, sure, I might not be as spry as I used to be, but I've still got a lot of living to do. I want to see what the next big thing is, I want to keep learning, and I want to keep making memories. Because that's what being alive is all about, right?

And who knows? Maybe one day, some kid will be scrolling through their social media feed and they'll see a 'This Day in History' post about something that happened on their birthday. And maybe, just maybe, that something will be something I did. Now wouldn't that be something?
