Cast Of Dracula Untold

Hey there, horror fans! Buckle up as we dive into the spooktacular world of Dracula Untold, the 2014 flick that gave us a whole new take on the classic bloodsucker. Grab your garlic and let's get started!

Meet the Gang

First things first, let's introduce our cast of characters. At the helm, we have Luke Evans, the Welsh heartthrob who traded in his singing voice from The Hobbit for some serious fangs. He's our Dracula, or rather, Vlad the Impaler before he went all vampire-y.

Now, who's the lucky lady by his side? None other than Sarah Gadon, who plays Vlad's wife, Mirena. She's not just eye candy, folks. Sarah's got some serious acting chops, having worked with heavy hitters like David Cronenberg.

But wait, there's more! We can't forget about Charles Dance, the British actor who played Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones. Here, he's playing the big bad, Master Vampire. Spoiler alert: he's not exactly a fan of Vlad's new diet.

Quirks Galore

Now, let's talk quirks. Did you know that Luke Evans had to wear contact lenses that changed color to achieve that eerie vampire gaze? Creepy, right? And get this: Sarah Gadon had to wear a prosthetic belly to portray Mirena's pregnancy. Talk about commitment!

But the award for most unusual prop goes to... the throne! Yep, Vlad's throne is made from the bones of his enemies. Talk about a power statement. It's enough to make Cersei blush.

Fun Facts

Alright, let's get a bit nerdy. Did you know that Dracula Untold was originally meant to be part of a shared universe with other Universal monsters? That's right, we're talking about the likes of Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Sadly, it never came to fruition. Boo!

But here's a fun fact that did make it to the screen: Vlad's impaling skills are inspired by the real-life Vlad the Impaler, who was said to have inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula. History buffs, rejoice!

Why We Love It

So, why should you give Dracula Untold a watch? Well, for starters, it's a fresh take on an old classic. It's got action, drama, and just the right amount of scares. Plus, who doesn't love a good origin story?

But most importantly, it's just plain fun. It's a guilty pleasure that doesn't take itself too seriously. And sometimes, that's exactly what we need in a movie. So, grab some popcorn, turn off the lights, and enjoy the show!
